Hello! I’m Janette and I am the Doula behind Dou North Doula maternal care. I am 48 and the mother of 3 children ages 16, 13, and 10.

I currently serve the Northumberland, Peterborough, Durham, and Markham (Ontario) areas.

I love to read, volunteer, practice yoga, and am generally up for anything I can do with a coffee in hand (don’t worry, I finish my coffee BEFORE attending a birth!).

My mission with Dou North is to meet families where they are at and to empower them to be autonomous, confident, joyful, and satisfied with their pregnancy and postpartum journeys. I want to be part of the all important “village”. Loving, encouraging, and helping my clients at every stage.

I approach maternal care with a “love first” mindset. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what your age, nationality, beliefs, or background is: I will love and support you first. I believe that even most minor acts, when done in love, make the most significant impact on the world.

I am truly grateful for every family that invites me to witness them grow, and should you invite me to be part of your story, it would be an honour and a privilege to serve you.
